Obtained one dog named .... Tiger. Leetle purebred cocker spaniel. Black.
Owners were going to take him out to the country and shoot him.

Gave him to someone homeless, homeless person couldn't keep him. Parents brought him home.

June dislikes him. Perhaps a possibility to slowly introduce the two.

...

Owners apparently want Tiger back.

I am somehow against giving him back.

On a side note, Sassy has never been so poofy before.

Just a heads up for anyone who held off ordering a werewolf calendar, the pre-sales will be closing in just under a week. There may be a small number of extra calendars printed for resale after the pre-orders close but in years prior these have gone in a matter of days. So if you would like one for yourself or as a holiday gift to someone special, now is the time to get one!

We are extremely excited by this years edition and the amount of talent packed into the calendar and hope in turn you will too. After all this calendar would not continue on without your wonderful and continuous support! Thank you to all of you that have supported this project or helped spread the word!

I'm new here (how on earth did I not know about this place? I've been missing out!), but I'd like to recommend an artist I commissioned earlier this year.

The artist is Sepia (formerly known as "SushiCougar"), and this is the picture I had her do (NFSW: non-sexual nudity).

I wanted to commission an anniversary gift for my boyfriend, and Sepia offered to do. Her prices are great (I, personally, think she undercharges herself), her work is beautiful, and she's great to work with. This picture has a lot of meaning to me so I gave her a lot of detail, refs, etc to work with and she was very patient. She showed me WIP sketches, got it done quite a bit before I'd told her I needed it, AND surprised me by adding a detailed background even though I didn't pay for it. She did a wonderful job, and I definitely recommend miss Sepia to anyone looking to commission something awesome.

Also, this is un-related to my particular experience, but one thing I really love about her work is that she's great at all different body types and species. Her gallery has everything from geese and beavers to dogs, and thin and muscular body types to the chubby types. She has a lot of variety. :)

EDIT: Holy crap I totally forgot I made this entry D=

Anyways, she is no longer doing the traced Icons, and is refunding anyone who has paid for them.

Not sure if I should keep this entry up or not, what do people here think? =[

He replied to my thread in the Job Services forum and asked me to draw a pair of cyborgs/androids for his paintball site. I happily agreed to draw for him and reminded him to check the pricing list and my ToS (in case he can't afford it or something, he can tell me and I can give him a small discount, it's my first commission). I sent him sketches for approval and everything went smoothly so far: I made some mistakes but I corrected them as soon as I can.

I completed the lineart for the (very rough) sketch I gave him, and sent him a screencap/low res preview of what I've done so far. He didn't respond for some days, which I find odd since he's been prompt with responses before. I send him an e-mail asking if he's received the preview.

Here's where the BEWARE part comes in. He tells me that he's "found a [sic] artist" - wait, what? He has been hiring others behind my back? At this point my scam radar goes nuts. He may not be paying the others for the work they're doing as well. Oh wait, he's suckered not just one, but  multiple artists.

I e-mailed him again, stating that he should pay everyone for whatever work they have already done.

This was the response I got and I'm not sure what to make of it.

ಠ_ಠ
Yes, I know I should have gotten him to pay first before doing anything, lesson learned, etc.

lol edit: Some people have called him out and he's hiding/flagging everything now.

I'm posting this for a friend of mine since he was recently screwed over by this but was very unsure of what to do except sell his stuff to make the necessary funds to cover for the commission.

What do you do if you ask for a commission from someone and have already sent in your references (in hopes of hearing an estimated quote as a reply), and then find out a couple days later that the artist already finished the art and sent you a teaser pic AND a quote for the finished piece.

What would you do as the commissioner? What would be the more mature way to handle this?

~K.

::EDIT::
I'd like to edit this with some extra details that I have forgotten to mention before posting this.

My friend asked for a 2-character image. One of the characters was of an orb with a sigma symbol on it. The orb counted as an additional character ($45 value) according to the artist. He hadn't anticipated that his orb-character would cost so much which is why he's trying to sell his stuff to cover for the commission. The commission itself is already finished and ready to be sent to my friend upon receipt of the funds. I've only been told that the artist was "demanding" payment for the work he had already done on the image although there was no contract or negotiation.

I have been trying to get a hold of my friend and will get him to send me screenshots of all the communications that he and the artist shared regarding the commission so that this post won't sound like a "he said, she said" situation.

Also, I'd like to apologize for not adding this extra information before I had posted this. Please forgive my ignorance. ^^;

~K.

I would just like to use this opportunity to put in not only a great word but an un-believably FANTASTIC word for The Plan Pony : theplanpony.deviantart.com/

I commissioned her not even a week ago, the level of service was unquestionable. She promised a WIP sketch within three days, she got it to me within 2. She promised all new commissions would be completed within two weeks, she got it to me within 1!! :D !!

The piece in question.
i13.photobucket.com/albums/a255/Gaaralover85/sugarstarkcomissionscaled.jpg

Her level of professionalism, skill, talent, and communication is all first rate! Having had some problems with another artist (to do the same peice) i found her to be refreshing, accomodating and well worth trading with time and again! I'm already saving up for my next commission from her! She made the time to treat me with respect, was able to do changes and alterations gladly and allround a super sweet girl!

Her prices are good, the standard excellent, her colour balance just spot on. Seriously this girl should get more work! She can't do anthro/furry unfortunately but her humans are just simply to die for!

Words can't describe how happy i am with her service :3

Quick Refesher: I draw the webcomic Last Res0rt, about a futuristic reality show (and the girl who signed up for it before figuring out she's also a vampire!). I'm almost done getting Volume 1 ready for print.

With Volume 1 looming on the horizon and the holidays coming up, now’s the time to put together what it’ll take to make sure this preorder stays on schedule — which includes no small amount of fundraising! Since the start of Volume 2 (if not throughout Volume 2) is going to involve, among other things, a veritable battalion of Star Org soldiers, why not ask you to help me find a solution to both?

You can help support the comic and keep Volume 1 on track, and I can draw you into the comic as a Star Org soldier instead of having to come up with random extras! You’ll not only be helping me, you’ll become part of the story!

Continue reading at lastres0rt.com and get full details...

TL;DR: Pay at least $50 and you'll get not only a custom conbadge of yourself / your fursona / whatever in their new role as a Star Org character, you'll also get a future cameo in Last Res0rt as well. If you don't feel like spending that much money, I've got a new wallpaper and some new Zazzle merch available as well. I'm doing this to raise money for the books; if I don't raise enough money, don't count on seeing the books anytime soon.

09 November 2009 @ 07:45 pm
Last Friday, after some rather stressful hours of work, I went to the hairdresser and had to post a letter for my boss. I was back at 3PM and directly went outside near the village with all my photographic equipment. I took a few pics but only a couple were really interesting. What was nice is that I met a black and white female cat who seems to live in the forest there and spent at least one hour with her, she was purring on my lap and also destroying my pants with her claws! ;) I took then pictures of the sunset and went back home. I used the computer for about one hour and went to the Volg. The rest of the evening I had stuff to do but also relaxed by using the computer and went to bed at a normal time.

Saturday I woke up at around 10:30PM and had a breakfast and did some little work and used my computer, and inbetween I vacuum cleaned and tidied up the apartment. Later, I went to the roundtable. There, we were about 15, which is slowly under the average. It was rather nice, also calm. Fafnir also came from Geneva. I had 1.5 liters of beer which was okay. We left finally rather late even if many left early. I was with Fafnir and when we came home we talked with Ryu and Silverhukie who stayed at home. We went to bed at 2AM.

Sunday we woke up at around 9:30, I had a breakfast and left at around 10AM. Ryu and SH didn't come with, they took a train later. We arrived at Basel just at 12 which was the meeting time. I first needed time to say hello to everybody. A bit later we left and walked through the streets of Basel for many minutes and stopped at the first Autumn fair place with the giant wheel but didn't stay very long. We walked further and then arrived at the big place with lots of stands in small houses We walked for more than one hour and watched what they have and bought a few things to eat and a glass of good Gluhwein. We met us again and walked towards the old city and the Rhine and went into the small ferry pulled by a rope. The last furries had to took the next trip so we waited for them on the shore. We directly went to another place with rides and I went to one with Fafnir and Inu which was quite crazy and nice! We then went to watch other rides and stand and when we met all again it was time for a tradition : Blue_Panther ate a blue cotton candy! After that we walked about 15 minutes to the "Basler Messe" and had about one hour to visit a quite big place with many rides. We had a ride on the bumping cars, I think it's been about 20 years that I didn't go on those and still had fun! :)
We went to another ride which was first okay, rather nice but then was violent because it was turning very fast. It was just time to go into the restaurant besides the place where we reserved some tables. We had a "flammekueche" which was quite good, but it's been many many years that we go to this restaurant so I know it. Just the service could have been better but it's also something typical there! ;) We had a dessert, had nice time talking, etc and took more pictures. Then I went with Fafnir and Lord Anubis by tram to the train station and I left them. I arrived at home at 8:45, I went from Wetzikon to Grüt by foot because there was no bus at this time. During the evening, I used the computer and did a couple of other things.

Here are the pictures of the furmeet that I just posted :

Enjoy!
